Decatur was the setting for Amanda Hamm’s 2006 murder trial. She was convicted of child endangerment, a far less serious charge than murder. The city also had a connection to the drowning deaths of her three children through the two lawyers who represented Maurice LaGrone Jr.: Jeff Justice and Tom Griffith, both Decatur defense lawyers at the time. We will be at the Decatur Public Library Monday July 8 at 6 p.m. for a presentation and visit with readers. Books will be available for sale at the event.
